Prices drop $18 since Oct. 14, / Benzene in Europe steady, in Asia up

Latin American benzene is $839/mt FOB Brazil, down $1 from the previous week. The pricing was determined by US Gulf Coast FOB assessments for the immediate and forward months, using a formula that takes into account freight costs of $100/mt. Latin American benzene has decreased by $18, or 2% since October 4. NYMEX WTI front-month settled at $69.49/b, and NYMEX RBOB at $1.9665/gal. Both settlements for December were lower than the previous week. The Brazilian Real exchange rate reached 5.80/$1 in Brazil on November 1, up from 5.69/$1 one week earlier. US Gulf Coast month 1 spot benzene prices rose Nov. 1, reaching their highest level since October 8. Despite unchanged fundamentals, this assessment was boosted by the increasing bids for product in December. Prices in other regions were fluctuating....
