The Chinese linear low density plastic market was quiet, with fundamentals of demand and supply remaining stable in the week ending August 8. LLDPE films were stable on a week-to-week basis at $940/mt CFR Fareast Asia as of August 7. Prices in Southeast Asia were trending downwards as the demand was further weakened due to low sentiments and high shipping costs. LLDPE film was down $10/mt on a weekly basis at $1,000/mt CIF SE Asia in August 7. Prices are falling because demand is poor. A trader said that it's supposed be peak season as consumers prepare for the Mid-Autumn festival and Thanksgiving but there is no demand.
