Asian ABS stable amid thin spot discussion, no trades / China ABS operating rates rise to 61.25% / The price of styrene Monomer in the Upstream market has risen by $10.50/mt per week

The Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia markers stable at $1,455/mt and $1,475/mt, on the week Aug. 28. The week was quiet, and offers were said to be relatively tight. "Oil price pushed SM firmer. This week, I believe ABS and PS markets will be stable or firmer. Another producer stated that the demand for China is still low. CFR China styrene and FOB Korea markers were $1,134/mt on August 28 and $1,119/mt respectively, up $10.50/mt over the previous week. Recent reports claim that the rise in styrene monmer prices has slowed down due to the weakening of upstream crude oil prices and benzene.
