Asian PS prices mixed amid rising costs / Market activity slows before holidays / China's PS operating rate declines marginally - Jan 20, 2025

CFR China polystyrene for general purpose was $1,180/mt in January 15, a $5/mt decrease from the previous assessment of Jan. 8. The high-impact polystyrene price was $1,285/mt. This is unchanged from the previous assessment. CFR Southeast Asia offered lower prices to increase trades in a subdued environment ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays. CFR SE Asia GPPS was assessed as $1,190/mt - down $5/mt from the previous week. CFR SE Asia's HIPS was assessed at 1,295/mt - stable compared to a week ago. CFR China's styrene Monomer Market at $1.044/mt is up $46/mt over the past week. The FOB Korea marker has been assessed at $1.034/mt and increased $51/mt compared to a previous week.
