the market was quiet, Asian ethylene prices held steady at $950/mt CFR
Northeast Asia on March 20 and $970/mt CONS Southeast Asia on March 20. The
emergence of naphtha supply made market participants uncertain. Some
buyers are unhappy with their current situation, as the margins in downstream
markets remain unhealthy. The market situation is still worrying as we
don't know what the future holds. We in the downstream markets still
suffer from low margins. Some of us have actually already started to cut
productions, and suffered severe losses," said a Northeast Asia buyer. The
benchmark C+F Japan naphtha marker was down $42/mt at $589/mt at March 20 Asian
