The market for high density polyethylene was quiet during the week ending Oct. 2, due to limited spot offers. HDPE film CFR Far East Asia was stable at $910/mt, while CFR Southeast Asia dropped $10/mt to $940/mt. Trading was quiet in China as most market participants were on holiday for Golden Week. Although domestic prices rose slightly as a result of the new stimulus measures announced early last week by the Chinese government, sources say that trading has since cooled down. In Southeast Asia too, the trading is slow and there are few spot offers because most Middle East producers have already placed their orders for this month. Sources also reported that demand remains low as buyers remained on the sidelines and only a limited amount of buying was observed....
