Asian HDPE market quiet amid thin trade / Fewer Offers Heard in China / India HDPE Prices Unchanged

The Asian market for high density polyethylene was relatively quiet during the week of June 19, as participants awaited new offers for the month of July. Few new offers for cargoes denominated in dollars were heard throughout the week, and the existing offer prices remained high, which kept market participants at bay. One trader stated that there hasn't been much trading on the CFR market in this week. Few Middle East offers have been heard in Southeast Asia this week, and the discussions are rangebound. Around $1,010 to $1,040/mt were the tradable indications. The demand was lukewarm, while the supply was plentiful. A producer said that while HDPE film may be soft, the market has a plentiful supply.
