Asian LLDPE Trends Downward amid Slow Demand / Quiet Season in China / Slow trade in Southeast Asia

In the week ending July 24, the Asian linear low density plastic market continued to trend downwards due to a slowing demand and a general lack of optimism. LLDPE CFR Far East Asia is down $10/mt from the previous week to $950/mt, while CFR Southeast Asia is also down $15/mt. The summer slowdown and the low expectations for the Chinese economy to pick up are causing market sentiments in China to remain weak. "Policies of the Third Plenary Sessions are not as good at expected. "Futures have been weaker and falling in recent days," said one trader.
