The Asian polyethylene market remains quiet Discussions on the markets were mostly rangebound during the week ending February 26. The demand in Northeast Asia was slow, and there were few transactions during the week. The PE restocking activities were dampened by the limited changes in downstream operating rates. The Chinese domestic market saw a decline in discussion levels as the supply outpaced demand. Market participants reported a general lack of enthusiasm for buying due to the uncertain recovery in demand following the Lunar New Year holidays. On February 26, the Chinese domestic HDPE was assessed at Yuan 7,800/mt, the LLDPE at Yuan 8,110/mt and the LDPE at Yuan 10,000/mt.
