Asian ABS prices stable despite unchanged market fundamentals / Feedstock prices rise $13.85/mt in a week / China ABS operating rates increase

The Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene CFR China marker stable week on week at $1,405/mt on Dec. 4. CFR Southeast Asia was also stable at $1,420/mt week over week, following the CFR China marker. The week saw producers generally maintain their offer levels despite unchanged market fundamentals. The market is stable, and fundamentally there have been no major changes. A producer in China stated that they were almost finished selling their December spot cargoes. The butadiene CFR China mark was $1,100/mt down $10/mt from the previous week, while the acrylonitrile CFR Far East Asia mark increased $5/mt to $1,225/mt. Calculations show that input costs for ABS producers have increased by about $13.85/mt from week to week. According to market sources, the ABS production rate was 74.04% for the week ending Nov. 29.
