The Asian benzene price fell $27/mt in a single day, to $1053.33/mt during the trading session of June 4. Sources in the market attributed this fall to lower upstream prices. A market source stated that the fall in price discussions was due to lower crude oil prices. Crude oil futures fell in the midafternoon Asian trading on June 4, as jitters about OPEC production levels and weakening demand fueled fears of an oversupplied 2024 market. On June 4, the front-month ICE Brent was at $77.26/b, down $3.94/b since the previous session. Naphtha prices also fell, the C+F Japan mark down $24.50/mt to $648/mt.
