Tradeable indication heard $1,550-$1,590/mt /Market participants lose hopes of a pickup in demand following China's stimulus

The week ended Oct. 17 saw Asian caprolactams fall $25/mt, as benzene prices continued to decline week over week. The upstream benzene price continued to fall week over week. The FOB Korea mark was $46/mt less than the previous week's $882/mt, after falling by $21.67/mt the week before. The ammonia CFR Far East Asia mark was last assessed at $450/mt. This is stable from week to week. A buyer said that CFR FE Asia is likely to trade at $1,550-1,590/mt. The buyer said, "I don't think buyers will accept anything over $1,600/mt at this time, it is hard to argue against that." He also noted a weakening sentiment on downstream nylon-6 markets.
