Brazil PE price movements varied on week / Lower offers on older inventory dominate the market / Demand is sluggish as prices continue to rise

In the week ending July 3, price indications for imports of polyethylene from the US to Brazil varied. While most prices remained high and offers were few, the demand was described as dull. The price of linear low density butene dropped by $20/mt in the past week as the market shifted to lower offers and indications. The high-density blowmolding grades jumped $55/mt due to a shortage of product on the US export market. All other grades were flat for the week. A trader stated that we should be patient and wait until the lower offers disappear from the market.
