The European recycled polypropylene market saw a price increase in the week ending Sept. 4. However, the level of the increase varied between the different products on the market. As market participants returned to the market after their summer holidays, natural pellets experienced a significant price increase of Eur50/mt. The commitments made by key downstream brandowners to use sustainable materials continued to drive demand. Natural pellets are in short supply, which has continued to support pricing. The recycled polypropylene pellet spot price was Eur1,830/mt, DDP Northwest Europe on Sept. 4. This was stable for the day but up Eur50/mt from the previous week. Market participants noted a large spread between natural pellets for post-industrial and post-consumer use. One distributor stated that the price for natural post-industrial material is EUR 1,600/mt....
