North Sea Crude Daily Market Analysis / Prompt cargoes exchange hands at low levels / Paper complex retreats for the day

On February 5, sellers unloaded additional North Sea crude cargoes as prices remained at multi-month lows. As sellers continue to discount prices to new lows in order to find buyers, overhanging cargoes have continued to cause havoc with price differentials. Equinor, in the Market on Close process of assessment for North Sea physical oil, offered a shipment of Forties, FOB Hound Point loading February 24-26. It was sold by Unipec at a discount of 30 cents/b to Dated Brent. This was the lowest price differential for a Forties FOB Hound Point deal in the MOC process since May 2024.
