In the week leading up to February 5, the Asian polyethylene market was relatively stable, as participants had just returned from Lunar New Year. Prices for dollar-denominated freights in China were stable due to a lack new offers. HDPE film CFR Far East Asia was $875/mt, while LDPE films were $1,120/mt as of February 5. The overall trading environment has not been good. Factory start-ups are slow after the holidays and there are few orders. "There is no good news at the moment," said a broker.
