Sources said that the short-term outlook
for the European naphtha was positive due to a good demand for gasoline blends. Sources say that the high
discount on gasoline has kept blenders interested in naphtha. Refinery maintenance in Europe also helped to support prompt
prices. The rest of the curve, however,
was weaker. July/August fell $1/mt and is now assessed at $2.25/mt. There is not much trading going on. One source stated that there is some blending but the
ethylene market has been very long, and the Rhine (water levels) is also
falling. Sources say crackers are running
at around 70%, but the levels vary depending on the configuration of the
