Asia PE: Little change amid thin trade in China and Southeast Asia / Demand in China and Southeast Asia remains weak / Firmer offers expected in Southeast Asia next week

The price of domestic LDPE films continued to increase week after week, amid expectations that supply will be tightened due to upcoming plant turnarounds in China and the Middle East. Chinese domestic LDPE is up Yuan50/mt to Yuan10,050/mt (ex-works east China). HDPE and LLDPE films prices are also slightly higher. HDPE film was up Yuan30/mt from last week to Yuan 7,800/mt, while LLDPE films were up Yuan10/mt to Yuan 8,160/mt. The production of downstream products has begun and is increasing, but not yet to the same extent. The second week following the Lunar New Year holiday is better than the previous week, according to a trader.
