MTBE in Asia has continued to be bearish on May 6. The MTBE price FOB Singapore was down $12.74/mt from day to day, at $905.13/mt. The MTBE factor FOB Singapore was also down on May 6 at 1.136 compared with 1.139. Market participants in Singapore felt MTBE would be a weak commodity in June and in July. BP Singapore offered 2,000 mt and 3,000 mt MTBE shipments loading between May 30, and June 3, at the Market on Close (MOC) between 4:00-4:30 pm Singapore. Trafigura purchased both cargoes at $906/mt F.O.B. Singapore from BP Singapore. Singapore-based trader was monitoring the market for any reductions in FOB China cargo offers from China producers.
