The European propylene markets were hit by
the continued weakness of the market's length in the week leading up to the
19th May, as spot prices fell on both the polymer and chemical grades. Weak demand in all segments of the propylene
market limited spot activity, and the seasonal construction demand was a major
factor that contributed to the lack of liquidity in the market. A producer
stated that, "[it's] usually peak season for the construction industry,
and we see no interest at all", adding that, "we see derivative
weaknesses in our portfolio... No deals domestically, there is nothing at all." The market
