On May 1, sources reported that two benzene transactions were concluded at $1,145/mt, each for 1,000 mt. The benzene price structure is said to be in a contango. The benzene market structure was heard to be in contango. The demand for benzene derivatives was not heard in the gasoline blend. A source stated that it was not logical to blend ethylbenzene and cumene with gasoline. The source said that cumene is more in demand to be blended into phenol than gasoline.
