European Benzene & Styrene Market Activity Picks Up / October benzene CP Window to Open Sep 23 / Benzene traded at $940/mt in Sep

On Sept. 20th, the European benzene markets picked up. A deal was heard for dates in September at $940/mt. In the week beginning Sept. 23, a five-day contract price window for October would be opened. On Sept. 20, benzene was traded at $939/mt CIF-ARA, down $12.25/mt from the previous day. On the European styrene markets, three deals were heard. The first deal, for the second half of September, was concluded at $1.238/mt and the second at $1.250/mt. However, this second deal took place on Sept. 18. The quantity of a deal was not known, but it was for dates in October at $1,235/mt. On Sept. 20, styrene was loaded five-to-30 days in advance at $1,230.25/mt. This is an increase of $8.50/mt.
