Participants closely monitor Ukraine's attacks on Russian oil refineries / South Korea's LG Chem is seeking naphtha to be delivered in H2 May

Sources said that the Asian naphtha market remained pessimistic about the near-term market outlook because of the sluggish demand for downstream petrochemicals. Market participants also kept a close eye on the impact the Ukraine attacks had on Russian oil refineries. Brokers pegged the time spread for the Japan-May naphtha swap at $6.75/mt during the midday Asia trade on April 15, an increase of $1.50/mt over the previous session. Cash differentials will be lower due to the physical spreads being narrowed. At the Asian close on April 12, the H2 May/H1 Jun timespread was $1.50/mt, down from the previous day's $2.25/mt. The CFR Northeast Asia ethylene spread to C+F Japan Naphtha on April 12 was $225.13/mt, up $4.25/mt compared to the previous session. This was however still below the usual breakeven...
