Asian Paraxylene: Prices fall on week due to bearish sentiment / PTA futures recover on supportive crude / PTA restocking expected ahead of Lunar New Year

The Asian paraxylene CFR Taiwan/China and FOB Korea markers up $9.33/mt day on day at $814/mt and $792/ mt Nov. 29, respectively. The Chinese market for PX was lower on the week, with the assessment down $13.33/mt at $814/mt CFR Taiwan/China on Nov. 29. The PTA and PX markets have been bearish most of this week, with PTA futures on China's Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange down on most days except on Nov. 29, when the futures rebounded with support from higher crude oil prices. The January 2025 PTA futures contract in the second session of trading on Nov. 29 rose by Yuan 54/mt to Yuan 4,810/mt.
