Asian Paraxylene ended the week in a negative note, as the trade activity is still stifled by the festivities that are taking place across the region. Asian paraxylene prices fell $2.66/mt in one day to $856.67/mt F.R. Taiwan/China on Jan. 31. The current festive-induced activity lull is expected to last for several more days. Traders said that some activity was seen for cargoes arriving in March, April and May. A broker in South Korea reported that some interest has already been shown for cargoes arriving in May. Trade will begin on February 16, but there is already a noticeable amount of buying activity. Broker said that for the moment, however, liquidity has not yet increased for cargoes arriving in May.
