The price of Asian Paraxylene increased on July 26 in line with oil prices. However, the weak spot price is not likely to decrease much because more supplies are heading towards Asia. Asian paraxylene was up $4.33/mt for the day, at $998/mt F.R.Taiwan/China on July 26. Sources claim that the recent drop in prices of PX seems to have benefited Chinese end users. A trader from Singapore stated that PX prices are at multi-month lows. Buyers in China have been increasingly interested in these cheaper cargoes. The trader from Singapore stated that "at sub $1,000/mt you begin to see end-users coming to purchase [as] [they] are buying the dip in prices."
