During the "on Close" assessment process, bids for both October andNovember cargo increased strongly, but no cargo was traded. GS Caltex offered up to $827/mt for November cargo while SK offered up to $ 821/mt for October cargo. The polyester supply chain remained weak and traders were unable to explain why prices fell so sharply. One source said that the sharp price drops were caused by the inherent weakness of the markets, and this was evident in the prices. This is the lowest it has been since January 2022. No trades were made at MOC on Sept. 11, due to the volatility of the market and the drop in prices.
