Asian paraxylene prices dropped day over day Feb. 21, amid fresh concerns regarding sluggish polyester downstream demand. Asian paraxylene down $9/mt day over day at $885.67/mt CFR Taiwan/China Feb. 21. In line with the weakness in the physical PX market, the paper markets also showed signs of distress, a trader in Singapore said. "[There was] a big sell -off on PX today. Specifically for PX, apparently the mood is bearish on post[ -Lunar] New Year demand pickup on polyester." PTA futures on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange were also lower, reflecting the sluggish sentiment.
