Asian Paraxylene: Falling on concerns about weak downstream activity / PTA futures drop / Downstream operations rates could be cut

The prices of Asian Paraxylene were lower on June 21 amid concerns that the polyester production in China could be weakening, which would in turn affect demand for PX and PTA. Asian Paraxylene was down $2.66/mt for the day, at $1.039.67/mt F.R. Taiwan/China on June 21. PTA futures at the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE) were lower on the day due to concerns about a weaker PTA market, which could also affect PX interest. ZCE data show that at 3 pm Singapore time (0700 GMT), TA 2409 was trading at Yuan 5.922/mt, compared to Yuan 5.946/mt on the previous day.
