Asian Orthoxylene Prices: Stable to lower than last week / India's strong demand for complex / China and SE Asia weaken as markets are closed during public holidays

Prices of Asian orthoxylene were stable to lower over theweek, at $1,060/mt, CFR China; $1,080/mt, CFR Southeast Asia, and$1,125/mt, FOB Korea, May 3. Feedstock isomer grade mixed xylenes firmed on average, while paraxylene fell.
Sources said that selling indications ranged from $1,050/mt up to about$1,060/mt on a FOB China basis. This indicates a weakening demand in the domestic market. Chinese markets were closed from May 1 to May 5 for the Labor Day holiday, which impacted trade discussions. Indian demand is still strong.
