Prices for Asian orthoxylene were stable to slightly firmer on a week-over-week basis at $900/mt, CFR China; $951/mt, FOB Korea; and $900/mt, CFR Southeast Asia. Laycans are from Feb. 20 to March 12. The FOB Korea markers will be $1/mt higher than a last bid of $950/mt per 3,000 mt. The activity remained low as major Asian markets were closed for Lunar New Year. Prices in China rose on Jan. 27 before Chinese markets closed. Limited availability was available for loadings in February. According to sources on the market, domestic OX-based anhydride prices rose from Yuan 7200/mt to Yuan 7.250/mt in a week. Sources said that the price of phthalic anhydride based on naphthalene also increased to Yuan 7,050/mt, up from Yuan 6,900/mt one week earlier. East China industrial naphthalene...
