Asian Orthoxylene prices rise sharply for FOB Korea bids in April / Short-term shortages of OX in South Korea / One or two China cargoes are available in April

Orthoxylene is up $11.19/mt to $961/mt, FOB Korea on March 14. It's down $5/mt to $925/mt, CFR China March 14 and $5/mt to $935/mt, CFR Southeast Asia. FOB Korea bids rose sharply, reaching $960/mt FOB Korea as a trader sought to purchase a 3,000-mt cargo in April, despite no offers. There is a short-term OX shortage in South Korea and Asia. One PA producer stated that there was no demand for spot cargo in April, and instead it would rely on term cargo for the month of April. The buyer only wanted to look at cargoes for May, and said that the demand would not come at this time. Another source stated that there was not a lot of cargo in Asia. However, cargo is also scarce in the West....
