The price of Asian orthoxylene fell on Aug. 23 due to a general reduction in prices heard during the week, as well as lower energy prices. Laycans were used for markers between Sept. 12 and Oct. 2. OX CFR China is $970/mt. This price follows the overall xylenes market for the week, and the lackluster demand. OX FOB Korea, at $960/mt. This is the intraday afternoon value. There are few spot discussions. Sources said that a trade was reported earlier in the week for a 3,000 mt cargo load from Taiwan at $980/mt FOB Korea. Details were not confirmed. OX CFR Southeast Asia was $980/mt at intraday values. There were no disputes and little interest in buying. Industry sources say that the east China OX listed price on an ex-workbasis...
