Asian Orthoxylene: Stable this week despite stronger upstream markets / Demand lagging amid rising supplies / Unable to close the sale tender

The price of Asian orthoxylene was stable at $890/mt for CFR China this week, $885/mt for FOB Korea, and $905/mt for CFR Southeast Asia. Laycans are available for markers from Oct. 31 to Nov. 20. An Indian buyer said, "I think the price should be increased this week." Supplies were abundant despite gains on upstream markets like crude oil and mixed-xylenes. Demand was also sidelined by volatile crude futures. Sources reported that buyers and sellers were unwilling to agree on a price for the spot market. East China's list price of OX ex-works was unchanged week over week at Yuan 7,100/mt. The last time this was heard, before China closed its markets for the holidays, on September 30.
