Asian orthoxylene is stable at $840/mt CIF China, $820/mt FOM Korea and $850/mt CIF Southeast Asia on Dec. 6. Laycans are available for markers from Dec. 26 to Jan. 15. According to sources, the buying interest on the spot market has decreased as term contract discussions continue. As the year comes to an end, and enterprises are experiencing a poor performance in the economy, it's expected that inventories will be reduced to make the financial statements look better, according to a Chinese source. FOB Korea isomer MX was largely unchanged, with an average price of $698/mt. CFR Taiwan/China Paraxylene dropped 43 cents/mt from the average weekly price of $811.90/mt.
