March 2 saw slower trading activity in the
Asian benzene markets as participants sought to clarify pricing. In a short time frame
before the session ended, both a bid or an offer were heard at $935-950/mt
along the April FOB Korea laycans. Shortly
after the session ended, an open deal trade was reported between the counterparties
at the same level of $935/mt. FOB Korea
benzene marker was $934.33/mt. This is $7.66-8.88/mt more than the previous
day. In the floating basis market, cash
differentials decreased. A April cargo was
offered at a plus $3-4/mt above the March Weekly Mean of Korea benzene price. Participants in Southeast Asia discussions were divided,
with some evaluating the supply-demand balance and others stating that cargoes
