Bidding activity resumed in the European
naphtha Market on Close assessment process, April 24. One bid was registered in
the MOC, for a 28,000-32,000 mt cargo -- the first since April 13. On east-west
spreads, the front-month spread rose $1.50/mt on the day to be assessed at
$1.25/mt -- the first time in positive territory since March 16. The rebound on
east-west spreads has been caused by worries over refinery cuts, but a still
sluggish recovery in petrochemical Chinese downstream activity continues to
weigh on sentiment in Asia, sources said. The front-month CIF NWE naphtha swap
was down $6.75/mt on the day at $665.75/mt. The May/June naphtha swap spread was down 50
cents/mt at $2.25/mt, while June/July was steady at $4.50/mt....
