Asian Nylon Chain: Firmer prices on stronger upstream / Demand for Nylon-6 increases ahead of Lunar New Year / Benzene is surpassed by adipic acid

FOB China nylon-6 prices for semi-dull and bright grades were $1,576/mt on Dec. 11. This was unchanged from the previous day, but an increase of $12/mt over the past week. These prices are within the range of tradable indicators heard between $1,552-$1,601/mt. Full-dull was also assessed as stable for the day, but $12/mt more expensive on the week, at $1626/mt. This is consistent with the tradable indicators heard at $1602-$1,651/mt. According to UNV1-based producers, the nylon-6 price has gained ground this week due to firm caprolactam and benzene prices. We expect to see a rise in the demand for nylon-6 as companies prepare for the Lunar New Year. Nylon-66 FOB China, nylon-66 resin, $2,168/mt, down $2/mt on the day and week. Based on tradeable indications, the price was $2,162-$2,174/mt....
