Asian Nylon Chain: Prices firmer amid rising upstream / Nylon-6 to see a rebound in February / Adipic Acid post-holiday outlook is uncertain

The FOB China price for semi-dull and bright grades of nylon-6 resin was $1,490/mt on Jan. 15. This is unchanged from the previous day and week. Full-dull was also assessed as stable for the day and week at $1540/mt. This is consistent with the tradable indicators heard between $1,515-$1,564/mt. A producer said that the price of nylon-6 resin has bottomed and is now firmer, due mainly to higher benzene prices and crude oil. The source said that, despite the high inventory levels, the outlook for the coming holiday season is positive. Some buyers have even restocked in anticipation of higher price increases.
