- No trading heard on Day- The bid-offer spread is narrowing

US Gulf spot methanol is 1 cent higher than the previous
day, April 25, amid increasing bids. The market remained active with the price of methanol rising
all morning. This helped to narrow the spread between the bid and offer. No trades were made on this day. A source stated that the majority of recent trading has been
a single producer buying material not on the market today. The methanol spot markets have seen a surge in activity in
April, with 300,000 barrels traded. Prices
in Europe fell by Eur3.50/mt due to a strong supply from the US, and weak
demand downstream. Prices in China dropped
$4-5/mt due to a slowdown on the polypropylene and monoethylene glycol markets.

Exclusive market movement data, shipping lineups, demand signals and pricing rationale continue in full report.
