On May 1, the spot price for US Gulf Coast Methanol remained stable, with offers in May and June remaining flat at 99 cents/gal FOM ITC. M1 and M2 was also offered at 102 Cents/gal FOB St. Rose. However, no feedback from the market regarding ITC-St. Rose's spread. Since April 23, only forward-month offers have been heard, despite the fact that a four-week period starting in May was scheduled. For June methanol, a bid of 91 cents/gal FOB ITC was made. The May 1 contract price for methanol settled 3.50 cents above the April average, with Methanex & Valenz both quoting 194 cents/gal. Market feedback indicated that discounts would range between 45%-58%. Spot prices for May 1 at 98 cents/gal FOM USG, about 50% less than the contract price.
