No offers or bids on MOC / Source MTBE inventories in China are increasing

Asian MTBE FOB Singapore was down $26/mt from day to day, at $829.50/mt on May 30, and the MTBE FOB Singapore Factor was lower on May 30 at 1.134 as compared to 1.135. The Market on Close (MOC) assessment process has been lacking in bids and offer, and the 30th of May was no different. In the past week, gasoline cracks have been falling on the market. On May 30, the 92 RON crack for Brent crude was $3.15/b, down from $4.36/b. China-based sources were surprised at the rapid fall of cracks from last week. However, a Singapore-based broker said that, given the supply-and-demand situation in Asia, it was expected that gasoline demand would fall.
