The MEG market in Asia was quiet on April 22. There were few buyers, as the polyester downstream markets remained stable. Market sources reported that the majority of near-term inventories were met in the previous weeks, resulting in a limited appetite for buying on April 22. According to a Chinese trader, operating rates will likely remain the same this week due to the stabilization of the polyester trade. A market source reported that inventory in China's main ports was estimated at 887, 000 mt on April 22. This is up by 5,000 mt compared to the previous week.
