The European naphtha markets strengthened on this day with an increase in crack spreads and bids during the Market on Close process. The traders were on the MOC bid side exclusively, as they have been in previous sessions. Each bid was, however, far below the MOPL spread previously established. According to sources, petrochemical margins in Europe were good. One source on the naphtha industry said that the delay in the Red Sea caused the finished petrochemical industries to tighten and lead to higher margins. Propane was still the preferred feedstock for Europe, despite being cheaper. The discount for front-month CIF Northwest Europe LNG swaps to their equivalent naphtha was $161/mt.
