The European naphtha market slowed slightly on May 13 as a mixture of offers and bids were registered during the Market on Close process. MOC had both bids and offers on this day, unlike the previous week when only bids were registered. The East/West spreads also widened as traders pointed to a consistently higher demand in Asia than Europe. In blending the spread between Eurobob's front-month swap with the equivalent CIF NWE swap increased by $1.75/mt on the same day to $213.25/mt. In recent days, high-octane blendstocks and reformate were heard to be lower and proved lower in the MOC.
