MX-naphtha spreading at its widest extent in six months / South Korea exported 49,205 mt of steel to the US during March

On April 19, Asian isomer grade mixed xylene was $15/mt more expensive than the previous week, at $982/mt. CFR Unv1 prices were $998/mt. CFR China's price of $978/mt was up by $14/mt. The Middle East tensions caused volatility in upstream prices during the week. However, MX prices were generally stable, even when compared to naphtha or paraxylene, two closely related markets. During the week, a trader said that MX prices were rising mainly because of gasoline demand. The PX/MX spread shrank by $5.34/mt from week to week, reaching $75.33/mt as MX prices rose faster than PX. The spread also decreased by $3/mt day-on-day. Data showed that the spread between isomer MX and feedstock naphtha increased by $22.25/mt from week to week, reaching $284.38/mt. This was the largest since Oct. 11,...
