The European spot MTBE price fell on June
13, following the activity observed during the Market on Close evaluation. Outright MTBE FOB ARA
price fell $3/mt to $994.75/mt based on MOC activities showing a contagious
structure. The premium on front-month
gasoline swaps also dropped to $199.75/mt, from $219.25/mt a day earlier. Sources say that the demand for gasoline blending has
improved since last heard. MTBE FOB
Singapore, assessed at $943.09/mt in Asia, was down $21.65/mt from the previous
day amid muted trading activity and sluggish market demand. The ETBE premium was stable at $80/mt despite the subdued
activity on the spot market. Sources said
that the market is "dry" with "nothing to trade" as some
imports are coming from Brazil. The spread
between front-month gasoline and naphtha narrowed...
