European spot MTBE prices fell March 15 due
to selling interest in a declining upstream environment. European MTBE FOB ARA was $936.75/mt on March
15, a drop of $69.50/mt on that day. This is below the outstanding offer made
during the Market on Close evaluation process. As a result
of the decline, the European MTBE premium to front-month swap dropped $9.75/mt
from $194.50/mt. Persisted firm demand led to the Asian MTBE
being valued at $963/mt FOB Singapore. This was $18 more than it was on day 1. The European
ETBE FOB AR premium for MTBE was steady at $80-85/mt despite thin spot activity. The
gasoline-naphtha spread for March was $3.50/mt less than the previous day, at
