MTBE premium drops $1.50/mt on day / Gasoline-naphtha spreading widens

Prices of European MTBE rose on April 16 despite a strong selling appetite. This was in line with a stronger upstream complex. The premium of the European MTBE over the Eurobob swap for front-month fell $1.50/mt to $241.25/mt, on April 16. MTBE FOB ARA was $1,186.75/mt on April 16, an increase of $10/mt on that day despite selling interest in the Market on Close process. No trades were made during the Market on Close process. Shell offered 1,000 mt of gasoline at $1,187/mt to load in the middle window, proving that the intraday value was calculated by using the premium on the Eurobob gasoline swap for May. The spread between the front-month gasoline and naphtha increased by $2/mt on April 15 to reach $254.50/mt. This indicates a more favorable blend...
