Asian MTBE: Drops $1.13/mt due to lower crude / Thin trade during Asia holidays / MTBE imports in Singapore surge 35% over the previous year

Asian MTBE, assessed at $741.15/mt on Jan. 31 (down $1.13/mt since Jan. 28), was unchanged from the previous session. The cash differential for 92 RON gasoline FOB Singapore Mean of Singapore Strip (15-40 days) remained unchanged. The drop in MTBE was likely due to lower crude oil and gasoline costs. MTBE market activity also remained low, with no FOB China discussions heard during holidays in China. Enterprise Singapore import data shows that Singapore's MTBE imports have increased 35.1% in the last year to reach over 2 million mt/year by 2024. This is up from 1.5 million mt/year.
